Woman Found Not Guilty of First Degree Reckless Homicide

A 42 year old woman who recently stood accused of first degree reckless homicide was represented by the defense attorneys of Hart Powell, S.C. and found not guilty. She was accused of stabbing her husband which eventually led to his death, however her lawyers fought to prove that her husband had been abusive for several years. The history of sexual and physical abuse, as well as a string of reliable witnesses, helped support the defense’s case. The trial lasted only six days and the jury took only three hours to deliberate before declaring the woman not guilty.
