Robbery

Robbery is known as the act of using violence or intimidation to forcefully take the property of another individual from his or her possession. Types of Robbery

Simple robbery, which is robbery without the use of a dangerous weapon, is considered a Class E felony in Wisconsin. The offender is subject to being sentenced to up to 15 years in penitentiary, a $50,000 fine, or both of these punishments together.

Armed robbery involves the use of a weapon at the time of the theft, and aggravated robbery involved the use of a deadly weapon. These offenses are considered Class C felonies in Wisconsin (more severe than simple robbery) and they are punishable by up to 40 years in prison, a $100,000 fine, or both.
